Programs offered in the Department of Kinesiology will prepare students for a broad range of professional careers in a variety of industries, including rehabilitation, health promotion, fitness and wellness, human performance, and recreation. The Department of Health and Kinesiology (HLKN) is the largest academic department at Texas A&M University and generates over 98,000 credit hours and 203,000 (Modified) weighted student credit hours each year. It requires 18 semester credit hours of Kinesiology or Physical Education course work including at least 6 hours of upper division (3000 or 4000 level) courses. The entry level salary for a kinesiologist is about is $30,000 to $36,000.
