Our Kinesiology program prepare students for exciting careers in the sport, fitness, and health industries, which could include conducting scientific testing in an exercise physiology lab, preparing to enter physical therapy or athletic training graduate programs, working on the business side of sport-related organizations, and entering the fitness and recreation industry at all levels. Waterloo’s Kinesiology program is a Bachelor of Science (BSc), which means that you’ll study the science behind how the human body works. In addition to the eight core courses (Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Foundations of Physical Movement, Fundamentals of Exercise and Nutrition, Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, Measurements/Evaluation and Prescription in Physical Education, Organization and Administration of Physical Education, Health and Athletics and Physiology of Exercise) students will take Public and Consumer Health, Concepts of Individual Wellness and Substance Abuse. In addition, as part of the School of Public Health, the bachelor’s degree in kinesiology includes core courses in public health such as epidemiology, biostatistics and community health sciences.
