Students must meet established testing requirements to progress into the student teaching or internship phase of the Teacher Education Program. Students who are interested in applying for admission to the Teacher Education Program should consult with their academic advisors and/or contact the Regional Enrollment Office prior to (2 or more semesters before) completion of their degrees. If not completed prior to admission to the Teacher Education Program, the equivalent graduate-level courses can be added to a student’s academic plan for the credential program. Students in the Athletic Training concentration are required to successfully complete all required HTH and KIN courses, and select designated elective courses based on their post-graduate goals. Under the guidance of Brescia and Western professors, you will enhance your teamwork and problem-solving skills to become a leader in your field through a variety of dynamic courses, including: The Psychology of Sport, Research Design in Human Movement Science and Professional Ethics in Kinesiology.

Prepare students to apply for residencies in specialty areas like sports medicine. As a Kinesiology major, students have the option to pursue the Sports Medicine Concentration. Sport or Esports development officer: Coordinates club and athlete participation in sports programs and improves the performance of individuals and teams. The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree program can be completed in one of three concentration areas: Exercise Science, Performance Psychology or Physical Education. The Exercise Science — Health, Fitness, & Wellness track is designed for students interested in careers in the commercial and corporate fitness industry as personal fitness trainers and fitness directors, strength and conditioning coaches as well as for students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in exercise science or athletic training. Typical employment opportunities in the field are in the areas of coaching, personal or group training, fitness instruction, fitness specialists, physical therapy assistants, recreation, as well as managerial positions in athletics and recreation centers.
