And Benita Orwell faced away from the kitchen on Thursday night, after viewers took to social media to harshly react to her cooking challenge attempts.

The 57-year-old was chided by online fans who referenced her age and questioned how she qualified for the reality show.

‘No offence Benita, but you should probably stick to making your grandchildren lunch boxes,’ voiced one offensive Twitter user.

Another queried how the mature entrant had never made ‘earl grey ice-cream’ and went as far as calling her a ‘fkn noob’.

One fan of the competition series challenged how Benita had even landed a spot this season, and remarked her position was ‘one valuable place wasted’.

Her choice for dessert was laughed at by another user, who joked: ‘I thought she was going to make fairy bread with tea leaf sprinkles’.

Another complained about the attention she was getting on-camera and angrily stated: ‘She’s getting so much air time and I barely know the others, urgh get off’.

The mature competitor also faced criticism from the show’s judges, as they told her ‘We know you can cook, but you’re in trouble’ after tasting her crab broth.

While she might be the competition’s oldest participant, Bettina has revealed her intentions for appearing on the show.

During the episode, the Brisbane-based reality star stated she hoped her camera time will launch a career for her as the host of regular women’s lunches in the city.

‘You’re never too old to follow your dreams,’ she expressed.
